Report of the 2022-2023 Indoor District Championships.

  • 13 March 2023

On Friday evening March 10 and Saturday March 11, 2023, the indoor district championships took place in Putten.

Senne Boom was qualified for the dressage and cones tests at these championships on both her Shetlander Bella and the Hackney Stapleford Shake A Leg.

Under appalling conditions, snow and ice, we traveled with Bella to Putten on Friday evening to participate in the dressage test.
Bella's dressage test is assessed by 2 jury members, independently of each other but in one room (!?), with resp. 166 and 172 points. Although the test was well run in our opinion, not a high score. But the latter turned out to be the general picture this evening.

After a late return and a short night's sleep, the journey to Putte started on time on Saturday morning with Bella and Stapleford Shake A Leg for resp. a cones test and a dressage and a cones test.

The dressage test with Stapleford Shake A Leg did not go entirely as desired (too much tension) and was assessed by both judges with 168.5 points.

The cones test with Bella went as desired, flawless and within time. The jump-off went super fast as usual, but unfortunately a ball fell. 2 profit points, but a high placement was therefore out of the picture. Unfortunately.

Due to delays in the program, the preparation for the cones test was increasingly compromised and it got colder and colder. In the end, Senne and Shake A Leg appeared shivering at the start of the cones test, which was not a success. One dropped ball and out of time.

Final conclusion: nice that we have been there, but it did not bring us what was expected.
